Bahrain Business Visa 2026: How to Apply, Requirements and Fees
The Bahrain business visa is an NPRA visa for businessmen and corporate representatives who travel to Bahrain from abroad for meetings and business transactions. According to the official bahrain.bh service page, it costs BD 25 and takes 5 working days. The application is backed by a company and needs that company’s valid commercial register.
What Is a Bahrain Business Visa?
It is a short-visit visa issued by the Ministry of Interior’s Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA). The official description says it is for businessmen and corporate representatives from abroad who need to hold meetings or conduct business transactions, within the applicable standards and regulations.
It is not a work visa. The official Bahrain visa information page says that a non-Bahraini who plans to work in Bahrain is applied for by a sponsor through the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). See our Bahrain work visa guide for that route.
Who Can Apply and What It Covers
The official page describes the applicant as a businessman or corporate representative coming from abroad. The application is made through a company. It needs the application company’s valid commercial register and an official letter from that company explaining the reason for the visit.
The page does not list eligible nationalities, and it does not say whether the company must be registered in Bahrain. It gives “meetings, business transactions, etc.” as the purpose and no longer lists, so treat the visa as covering business visits only.
Requirements and Documents
| Document | Notes |
| Service application form | The form for this service |
| Copy of passport | Of the visitor |
| Valid commercial register | Of the application company |
| Official company letter | Must explain the reason for the visit |
| Copy of ID card | Of the applicant or the legal representative |
| Proof of the visitor’s job | The page does not say what form this takes |
NPRA may ask for more. The official page does not list a passport validity requirement, so check this with NPRA before you travel.
Bahrain Business Visa Fees
| Service | Official fee | Processing time |
| Issuing a business visa | BD 25 | 5 working days |
| Extension of a business visa (two weeks) | BD 40 | 1 working day |
The official page lists no other charges for the business visa. Fees you see elsewhere belong to other services. For example, the official eService list shows BD 29 for a GCC Visitor eVisa and BD 44 for a one-year multiple-entry Visitor eVisa.
How to Apply

- The application company prepares the documents: listed above.
- Open the official business visa service page: on bahrain.bh. It lists online channels and a physical location. The online eServices that list the business visa are Companies and Government Institutions Login (for companies registered as visa guarantors) and Visa Issuance Request without Guarantor. The pages do not say which route suits which applicant.
- NPRA reviews the documents and conditions: accepts the application and issues a receipt.
- NPRA checks the application: Once it is approved, the visa is issued to the applicant.
Allow at least 5 working days, plus time to prepare documents, before booking non-refundable travel.
Validity, Stay and Extension
The official bahrain.bh pages do not state the following, so this guide does not either:
- How long the visa is valid
- Whether it is single or multiple entry
- How long you can stay per visit
- Which nationalities are eligible for the business visa
- How many times the visa can be extended
Check these with NPRA before you travel. For nationality-based eligibility, use the official eVisa platform. Do not rely on third-party figures, because they conflict with each other.
NPRA does offer a two-week extension of the businessmen visa. It costs BD 40 and takes 1 working day. It needs the visitor’s original passport, the application form, a copy of the valid commercial registration of the company or guarantor institution, and an ID copy. On the official eService list, the extension appears under Visa Issuance Request without Guarantor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a company to apply?
Yes. The official business visa requires the application company’s valid commercial register and an official letter from that company. The pages do not say whether the company must be registered in Bahrain. If you only need a standard visit visa, see our Bahrain eVisa guide.
Can I work in Bahrain on a business visa?
No. The business visa is for meetings and business transactions. Employment goes through a sponsor and LMRA.
Where do I confirm the current rules?
Use the official Issuing a business visa service page, the NPRA website and evisa.gov.bh. For every other entry route, see our complete Bahrain visa guide.
NOTE: NPRA can change fees and rules without notice, so confirm current details before you apply.
