UAE Job Seeker Visa 2026: Eligibility, Cost and How to Apply

UAE job seeker visa

The UAE job seeker visa is an official visit visa that lets an eligible foreigner enter the UAE to look for a job without a host or sponsor. The UAE Government portal lists three options, 60, 90 or 120 days, for one trip. To qualify you must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, meet one of two profile conditions (a MOHRE skill level 1 to 3 job background, or a recent graduate of a top-500 university), and provide the required financial guarantee. The right to work is not provided by the visa. A job offer still needs a MOHRE work permit.

Quick Eligibility Check

You are likely to meet the published conditions if all three answers are yes. Confirm them against the official service page before you pay anything.

  1. Do you hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, with an attested certificate?
  2. Are you either in a job at MOHRE skill level 1, 2 or 3, or a graduate of a top-500 university who graduated within the last 2 years?
  3. Can you provide the required financial guarantee for the service?

Skill levels come from MOHRE’s classification of jobs. Level 1 is legislators, managers and business executives, level 2 is professionals in scientific, technical and human fields, and level 3 is technicians in those fields.

UAE Job Seeker Visa Eligibility and Qualifying Categories

According to the UAE Government portal’s jobseeker visit visa page, the applicant must:

  • be either in the first, second or third MOHRE skill level, or be a graduate of one of the world’s best 500 universities (as classified by the Ministry of Education) who graduated within the last 2 years;
  • hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
  • fulfil the prescribed financial guarantee.

The GDRFA Dubai service page lists the skill-level condition and the top-500 university condition as two numbered conditions, without the word “either”, and does not mention the 2-year graduation limit. The UAE Government portal lists it as an alternative. Because the two wordings differ, check which one the live service screen applies to you.

Costs that are not government fees: flights, accommodation, living costs, and any service charge from a typing centre or agent. No official figure exists for these.

How to Apply for the UAE Job Seeker Visa

  1. Check your eligibility using the conditions above.
  2. Choose 60, 90 or 120 days. Pick the length you realistically need. Extending later is possible only within limits.
  3. Choose the authority. Dubai applications go through GDRFA Dubai. ICP handles the other six emirates and offers the same three durations as separate services.
  4. Apply through an official channel. GDRFA lists its smart services (UAE Pass or username), a Customer Happiness Centre or an Amer Service Centre. Digital channels are available 24/7. Amer centres operate during official hours.
  5. Fill in the data and pay the fees.
  6. Await the outcome. GDRFA states that the service is expected to be completed within 48 hours. That is the service time, not a promise of approval. To follow your request, see the UAE visa application status check guide.

Official services: GDRFA Dubai: Issuing a visit visa to explore job opportunities, and the ICP services for 60, 90 and 120 days.

Validity, Entry Deadline and Extensions

  • Validity options: 60, 90 or 120 days.
  • Number of trips: The UAE Government portal says one trip. GDRFA’s service page says “one or more visits”. Treat it as a single trip unless your permit says otherwise.
  • Entry deadline: ICP’s general visit-visa service page says the holder must enter within 60 days of the entry permit’s issue date. That page is not specific to job-search visas, so use the validity printed on your own permit.
  • Extensions: GDRFA Dubai lists a separate service for extending a job-exploration visit visa. It allows extension for the same granted period, with a total of no more than 180 days. ICP’s visa extension service also lists exploring job opportunities as extendable up to 180 days in total. For fees and the process, see the UAE visit visa extension guide.

What the Visa Permits and What It Does Not.

It is a visit visa to search for a job. It lets you stay in the UAE for the period issued so you can look for work.

It does not:

  • Guarantee a job or a work permit;
  • Allow you to start paid work, because a MOHRE work permit is required;
  • Guarantee that you can move straight to an employment visa without leaving. The official job-seeker pages do not describe a status change. Ask your employer or the issuing authority how your case will be handled.

Staying after your permit expires leads to fines. ICP lists AED 50 per day, and the UAE overstay fine guide explains how to check and pay.

Job Seeker Visa vs Ordinary Visit Visa

An ordinary tourist or visit visa has its own purpose, conditions and documents. The UAE visit visa requirements guide explains how those work. The job seeker visa is a separate category with its own education and skill conditions and a financial guarantee.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

These are practical tips, not official instructions.

  • Applying with an unattested certificate.
  • Using a passport with less than 6 months’ validity (GDRFA lists this requirement).
  • Choosing 120 days when the stay cannot be afforded, or 60 days when more time will be needed.
  • Booking non-refundable travel before the visa is approved.
  • Paying an agent who promises a job. No official page says a visa leads to employment.
  • Entering after the entry deadline on the permit.
  • Doing paid work before a MOHRE permit is issued.

If You Do Not Qualify

  • Look for an employer in the UAE who will sponsor you from abroad. The process is covered in the UAE work visa guide.
  • Review other visa categories in the UAE visa guide.
  • Ask GDRFA Dubai or ICP to confirm your eligibility if you are close to a condition, such as a degree equivalent.
